As you may know, TomTom already announced in 2017 to discontinue its Consumer Sports business to refocus on its leading position in mapping and navigation technologies. Even though we did not develop new sports wearables in the last years, we continued to support our products and customers as we had a strong community that still loved and actively used our sports products.
We're delighted to have been able to help you achieve your sporting goals over the years, and thank you for the trust you've placed in us. Keep on keeping fit! For our part, we'll continue to guide you on your journeys, whether via an app on your phone, in your car's built-in navigation system, or on your sat nav.
However, over the past years, we have seen the usage decrease significantly, which has led to the difficult decision to end our support on the TomTom Sports infrastructure by the end of September 2023.
What will happen? What will happen to my TomTom device? What will happen to the user data on TomTom's side? Can I still order an accessory? Can I still sync my TomTom Sports Watch data with other websites like Strava or Nike+ to track my progress? Can I still download runs, trails, courses, or music onto my watch through other providers? What will happen to the data on my TomTom Sports account? What will happen to the user data on TomTom's side? Can I still access my data history? I have a different question regarding the end of support of the TomTom Sports online service.
What will happen?
The TomTom Sports mobile app, Sports website, and Sports Connect desktop application will be discontinued and permanently removed.
You may be able to still use your TomTom Sports watch, Golf watch or Activity tracker and see your activity statistics on your device itself, but you will no longer get updates or will not be able to sync your activities to the TomTom Sports platforms and applications.
You can store activities on your watch, however we suggest you switch off this functionality as you will not be able to delete this after the app has been discontinued. To avoid your storage filling up we suggest that you do not store activities on the product itself.
While the mobile app might still be functioning on your current phone, we cannot guarantee that will be the case in the future due to new software from your smartphone manufacturer.
TomTom would like to thank you for your trust in our products and will continue to offer products that will help you GO faster, smarter and further on the road.
What will happen to my TomTom device?
Your TomTom device will no longer be able to synchronise with the TomTom platforms. You will no longer have access to your online material through the web-app or smartphone app.
As it will no longer have access to the online infrastructure, there will not be any more updates to the device and the activity history will no longer be logged online. Your device will keep its offline functions and thus can still be usable without tracking history. As QuickGPS data will no longer be available it might take longer for your watch to obtain a GPS fix. As TomTom will no longer support/improve the software or features of the device itself, you might experience issues with currently working functionalities in the future.
Can I upload my data to other websites like Strava or Nike+ to track my progress?
No this will no longer be possible through the TomTom Sports platforms, depending on the third party supplier you might be able to upload some of your previously downloaded data.

Can I still order an accessory?
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to order any accessories for your TomTom Sports watch, Golf watch, or Activity tracker through TomTom’s sales channels since we have discontinued all TomTom Sports-related products. However, you might still be able to find accessories on other 3rd party websites or marketplace sites.
Can I still sync my TomTom Sports Watch data with other websites like Strava or Nike+ to track my progress?
No, it will not be possible to sync your data with other websites.
Can I still download runs, trails, courses, or music onto my watch through other providers?
No, this will no longer be possible.
What will happen to the data on my TomTom Sports account?
You will have access to your sports data up until the end of the service, after which it will no longer be possible to log onto your TomTom Sports account.
TomTom prioritises data safety and therefore we aim to be transparent on what happens to your data.
Once the services go offline, TomTom will remove both your personal and activity data. Your TomTom account will remain as users may have other TomTom products linked to the same account. If you want TomTom to remove your account, you can file a GDPR request form. For more information, see: Delete My TomTom account.
What will happen to the user data on TomTom's side?
TomTom will remove all data, including personal and activity data. Only the TomTom account will remain because users may have other TomTom products linked to the same account.
Can I still access my data history?
You can access and export your data history as long as the Sports service is live. However, once the service is discontinued, your history will no longer be accessible. Make sure to export and save your data from https://mysports.tomtom.com/app/settings/account-manage/data-protection before.
Path from the Sports landing page:
- Click your user name in the top right and click Settings.
- Click MANAGE ACCOUNT.
- Click Manage my data.
Depending on the number of stored sports activities you're shown one or more download buttons.
