Memory card not recognised by your device

If you don't get prompted to format your new memory card when you first insert it into your device, do the following:

1. Use a computer to format the memory card with the file system FAT32 (Windows) / ExFat (Mac).
2. Reset your device , and insert the memory card when you see the map view.
3. Your device asks you if you want to format the memory card. Select Yes .
4. Connect your device to a computer with MyDrive Connect to install items on the memory card.

For newer devices produced from 2013 onwards:
If you have used your memory card to export or import Routes, then it will not be recognised by MyDrive Connect and you cannot use it to install maps. If you wish to use that memory card for map installation then you need to format it again on your device. Go to Settings > System > Format memory card , and FORMAT CARD .
