As we approach mid-September 2024, the GO Ride mobile application will be discontinued. The app will no longer be available for download, and its core functionality, including map services, will be deactivated as the maps API is switched off.
While it was not an easy decision, it is part of TomTom’s commitment to continuous innovation. By focusing our resources on developing new and improved solutions, we aim to better meet the evolving needs of our community. Discontinuing GO Ride allows us to introduce advanced features and functionalities in other projects, enhancing the overall user experience and delivering greater value.
We deeply appreciate our community of motorbike riders who have supported GO Ride. To ensure you continue to have a high-quality navigation experience, we are offering the AmiGO app as a free alternative. Even though AmiGO is not built for motorcylces, it includes popular features such as winding route planning, Speed Cameras, and CarPlay /Android Auto connectivity, which have been highly requested by the GO Ride community.
At TomTom, we care about our community and are committed to providing the best possible solutions for your needs. We believe that AmiGO will serve you well and continue to enhance your riding experience. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
When will this happen?
GO Ride will be discontinued on September 15th, and you will no longer be able to use the GO Ride app. Make sure that you have downloaded your trips' data by this date if you wish to keep them.
Are you going to maintain the current app until 15 September?
Yes, the current GO Ride app will remain available until 15 September if you already have it downloaded on your device. If you don't have it on your device, you won't be able to download it from the store anymore.
Will GO Ride remain on my device after 15 September?
The app will remain on your device until you delete it, but it will no longer be usable after 15 September.
Why is the app shutting down?
The decision to shut down the GO Ride app comes from our commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in the ever-changing world of navigation technology. The field is always evolving, and to keep up, we need to focus on new and exciting projects. By shifting our resources and attention, we can better prepare for future advancements and continue to deliver the cutting-edge solutions our community expects and deserves.

What can I use instead of GO Ride for motorbike navigation?
We highly recommend switching to the TomTom AmiGO app. It's free and already trusted by half a billion users. AmiGO offers popular features so appreciated by our riders community: winding route planning, speed camera alerts, and Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity, ensuring you have everything you need for a great riding experience.
Unfortunately it is not possible to plan routes using Plan.TomTom.com and sync them with AmiGO.
How can I plan routes for motorbikes on AmiGO?
In AmiGO you are able to set up a motorcyle profile, and make a selection of route options for example choosing a winding or fastest route. In addition to GO Ride AmiGO offers other great features such as traffic information and speed cam warnings. You can also use AmiGO for other vehicles and it is compatible with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
