AmiGO makes use of a separate voice engine on your phone. For spoken instructions or Text-To-Speech (TTS) to work in AmiGO, your phone needs both a TTS engine and language files that the engine can use.
If either one of these is not available on your device, AmiGO cannot play voice warnings and voice instructions.
If your language is not supported, you can choose one of the following options:
- Continue with “alarms only” which is the default setting. You will receive the audio and visual warnings for speed cameras, traffic zones, accidents and jam tails, but you will not get spoken instructions for navigation, warnings or confirmations of traffic incidents.
- Choose an alternative language from the settings on your device.
Note: The voice may not be compatible with the language AmiGO is using and might therefore sound strange. - Install a voice/TTS engine.
Installing a voice/TTS engine
In your device settings there is usually an option to install more languages or add an additional voice engine. Please refer to the manual of your device. If these options are not available in the settings on your device, an alternative is to download an application that functions as an external TTS engine.
