Keep Tom up to date
To get the best from Tom by TomTom, keep it up to date. Use the TomTom app to install firmware updates. You can download the app on Google Play and the App Store.
Check your version
To confirm you have the latest software, compare Tom's version with the most recent release:

Check your battery
Before you update, make sure Tom has enough charge. If the lights at the bottom of the device flash red, the battery is low. Charge Tom before you start.
Note: If you still see a low-battery message after charging, turn Tom off and back on to restart it.
Update Tom
Follow these steps to check for and install a firmware update:
- Open the TomTom app on your phone and make sure Tom is connected.
- In the app, tap the menu button in the top-left corner.
- If an update is available, you'll see Update available. Tap it.
- Tap Firmware update available.
- Tap Install now.
The update installs on Tom.
