Map sizes grow over time as we add more details such as new roads, to make the maps more accurate and useful. This full map might no longer fit if it’s larger than the device storage.
If your device has no space to install full map, MyDrive Connect gives you an option to install a map zone depending on your device model. You can install only one map zone at a time.
If your device supports a memory card, you can install a full map on the memory card. To check the compatible memory card for your device, see: Compatible memory cards for map installation.
What are map zones?
Map zones are smaller section of full maps.
- They have the same level of detail as a complete map.
- They are available for Europe and the USA, Canada and Mexico.
- You can also change the installed map zone to a different zone.

I still don't have enough space for map zones
If your device still shows no space for a map zone, your device may need a memory card.
- Open MyDrive Connect, go to My Content > Maps, and select regions and click Install full map. See: Installing a map on empty memory card.
Using 3D buildings (Map areas)
Some devices also support maps with 3D buildings. These are also referred to as map areas. If you don't have enough space for the full 3D version, MyDrive Connect lets you install the same map with 3D buildings limited to an area of your choice along with your map zone options.
- 3D building areas are available for Europe and the USA, Canada and Mexico.
- You can also choose a map zone without 3D buildings.
