The TomTom GO Navigation app is now available with CarPlay® support on iPhones running iOS version 12 or higher.
Q&A:
Why does the app look different on Apple CarPlay® than on my iPhone?
Apple uses CarPlay® User Interface templates to ensure that all CarPlay® apps have a similar look and feel, and screen elements that are familiar to the user. The TomTom Navigation app has been adapted to use these templates so that it can be made available via CarPlay®.
Why is the route bar missing on Apple CarPlay®?
Unfortunately, the CarPlay® User Interface templates do not allow for the route bar in its current form. We are investigating ways to incorporate the information and features of the route bar in future versions of the app.
Is the GPS of the iPhone used or that of the car?
The GPS of the phone is used to track your car as you drive. If you experience issues with your location as you drive, try placing your iPhone somewhere that allows it a good view of the sky.
Where do you find the GO Navigation app once connected to Apple CarPlay®?
Swipe to the second screen on your head unit, and look for the black icon with a white car on it.
When are new features coming to Apple CarPlay®?
Further developments and improvements to Apple CarPlay® support will be made but we cannot share exact features with you at this time.
Note
: You can set up CarPlay® with your iPhone either via Bluetooth® or a wired USB connection.
