Since version 1.7 you can disable the voice separately in the Navigation app for iPhone. You will still get alerts for speed cameras, speed limits, places of worship and schools.
You can disable or enable the voice using the Quick Access Toolbar. See the TomTom Reference Guide for instructions on how to use this toolbar.
Changing the volume
To change or mute the volume, tap the left-hand of the status bar in the Driving View to show the volume control.
- Move the slider from left to right to increase the volume for both music and voices at the same time.
- Move the slider all the way to the left to mute all sounds. When the sound is muted, the mute sound indicator is shown in the bottom left corner of the Driving View.
TomTom Car Kit
When the iPhone is docked in the TomTom Car Kit, you can use the volume control buttons on the side of your Car Kit to change the volume of your phone.
- You can change the volume at any time during hands-free calls or while any other sound, such as music, is being played through the speaker on your Car Kit. You cannot change the volume while your Car Kit is giving you information.
