Get the TomTom CURFER mobile app
Install the TomTom CURFER adapter
Open the TomTom CURFER app on your phone and follow the on screen instructions to be guided through the installation of the LINK100 adapter.
Learn more about your TomTom CURFER
When you open your CURFER you see the Driving Score dashboard. Here you can see your overall performance with real-time scoring based on your acceleration, braking, cornering & idling. Beneath the score field you will get notifications for driving events to underline which parts of your driving can be improved to raise your score.
Tap Summary at the bottom of the dashboard to see a daily, weekly or yearly report on your driving score and several statistics such as distance, speed and G-forces.
As you keep using your CURFER you will earn badges that showcase various milestones and achievements. Tap the trophy icon in the top right of the screen to see the badges you have earned, and what you need to do to earn more.
When your CURFER is connected you can see the live data collected by the LINK100 adapter. The Driving View gives you information similar to your vehicle's display, but with more detail.
The Expert View provides readings from the many sensors connected to the Engine Control Unit. Here you can see detailed data on battery voltage, oil temperature, engine load and more. The coloured line to the left of each entry shows how that value compares to what should be standard performance, and will turn red to warn you if anything is not at normal levels.
If a line is greyed out, your vehicle does not provide data for that specific metric.
Using Track Recording
The Tracks View shows all your recorded trips in chronological order, with information on time, location, duration and distance. Select a track to open the map view for that trip.
Track recording is disabled by default. You can enable or disable track recording by using the toggle slider on the top of this screen. While track recording is enabled, every trip made will be recorded until the feature is disabled again. Track recording works while the app is in the background/screen is locked, and it will continue recording until the app is completely shut down.
A track is completed when the engine has been turned off for more than 15 minutes. If the engine is started again within 15 minutes, the track continues.
The track map view lets you review your trip by showing you the route you took and any driving events that were registered. Any driving event which is above the thresholds is shown in the same style as they are presented in the Driving Score dashboard.
The track map view shows different icons for cornering, braking and acceleration, and the colour of the icon will be either orange or red, depending on the severity level. Tapping an icon shows the time, location, type and severity of the event.
Using Car Finder
When your smartphone is out of range of the LINK100 adapter, a pop-up appears asking if you want to enable Car Finder. Car Finder shows your current position and the last recorded car position on a map. If you want detailed directions for getting back to your car you can tap Guide me to my car. This will open your default navigation app and give you a route to your car.
Sharing your stats and progress
Your CURFER lets you share your driving score, badges, summaries and driving statistics. Wherever you see the sharing icon you can tap it to share the badge or information on social media, or through email or direct messaging to your family or friends.
When you tap the icon your CURFER generates an image which can be easily shared or sent through your preferred channel.
