There's not enough space to reinstall my map, what should I do?

After deleting a map from your navigation device to install a new version of the same region , HOME may give the error "Not enough free space on your device."

Important: Only follow these steps if you have deleted a map and are trying to install a new version of the same map. If you have not deleted a map and do not have this specific error, follow these instructions for the proper map installation process or these instructions to create free space .

To fix the HOME error and install your new map, do the following:

1. In HOME, click Manage my device .
2. Under the Items on device tab, select all items. This means applications, voices and so forth. Then click Remove items from device .
   
   HOME suggests that you save a copy of some items on your computer. Make sure all items are selected, then click Continue . When HOME is finished, click Done .
3. Click Add Maps . Then select your new map by clicking Add . Once HOME finished installing your map, click Done .
4. Next, you need to find specific files on your device to delete:
   
   
   • Windows 7 / Windows Vista

   • 	Click the Windows Start button , and then click Computer . Double-click your navigation device. Usually this is named INTERNAL . Double-click the folder with the name of the map you installed. For example, the map "Western & Central Europe 2GB" has a folder called "Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB". Inside this folder, delete files beginning with "cspeech_" of languages you don't need. See the list below to learn how these files are named for each language. Important: Do not delete any other file types from your device. Once these files are deleted, proceed to step 5. 5. In HOME, click Update my device . HOME features a list of possible updates. You need to select at least the latest version of the application for your TomTom device and one voice. Then, click Update and install . Once HOME finished installing items, click Done .
   
   If some items are not offered from Update my device , you can also install them from Add Traffic, Voices, Speed Cameras etc. > Items on my computer .
6. HOME now restarts your device. Look at the screen of your navigation device. Click No on your device's screen to safely remove it from your computer.

Your navigation device now has the new map installed and works properly.
