More and improved metrics
- The two smaller metrics shown at the top of the screen are larger so that they are easier to read.
- Activities longer than an hour now show time in seconds and minutes.
- We added the following behaviour: when you scroll through your metrics, one metric will first show the type of metric, for example distance. After two seconds “distance” is replaced by the unit, in this example “km”.
Improvements to pausing and stopping an activity
- Pausing and stopping an activity is clearer and more intuitive.
Improvements to treadmill running
- Calibration is no longer needed for treadmill activities shorter than 500 metres.
Improvements to swimming on the Multi-Sport watch
- Choosing left or right wrist has been removed from the swim settings because it is no longer required.
- More pool sizes are available, and you can set the pool size in metres or yards regardless of your general unit setting.
- The swimming pool size default has been changed to 25m/25yards after a factory reset.
Improvements to the history
- The watch history contains more details such as your race result and time spent in each heart rate zone.
New heart rate functions
- The watch monitors how your heart rate is recovering when pausing an activity, and gives a score for your heart rate recovery. The faster your heart rate drops after exercise, the fitter you are.
More metrics for Multi-Sport and Multi-Sport Cardio watches with integrated altimeter (serial number starting with HD or HF)
- Your Multi-Sport watch with integrated altimeter shows CLIMB as cumulative elevation gain.
- Your Multi-Sport watch with a built-in altimeter shows terrain distance during run, cycle, freestyle or hiking activities in the mountains. Terrain distance includes the climb and descent. This is especially useful when exercising in mountainous areas, where there is a significant difference in horizontal distance travelled and the distance over the sloped ground.
Usability improvements
- For Training Partner Race, you can complete the race even when your ‘shadow’ has already finished.
- Additional languages have been added: Czech, Dutch and Portuguese languages.
- Added support for iOS 8.
Bug
fixes
All the following issues have been fixed:
- Elapsed distance was incorrectly shown instead of lap distance.
- Swimming count stopped on long swims, for example around 2850m (57 lengths of a 50m pool).
- Occasionally, the calorie calculation was using default height/weight/gender.
- The altitude did not display over 9999.
- Sometimes the crank icon didn't appear although the watch was linked to the cadence sensor.
