Tom by TomTom is a road alert assistant that warns you of mobile and fixed speed cameras, traffic conditions, hazards and speeding. You can be warned using audio and visual alerts.
You can also report, confirm or dismiss warnings using Tom.
Tom works with the free TomTom app and requires Android 12 or iOS 18 higher. No subscription is needed. The app is compatible with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®.
In the TomTom app, under Settings > Warnings you can enable the following warnings:
- Speed camera warnings
- Traffic alerts
- Hazards
- Speeding
You only need to power on Tom once. If you leave Tom powered it automatically enters sleep mode whenever your car is parked, and your phone is out of range. When you return to your car, Tom automatically re-activates on motion detection and is ready for use.
