Get turn-by-turn directions in the TomTom app

Combustion or hybrid cars

Plan a route in a combustion or hybrid car:

1. Tap Search to enter an address or place. Or tap a spot on the map to set your destination.
2. Tap Route. You'll see route options.
3. To pick a different route, tap it on the map.
4. Tap Drive. The app gives you turn-by-turn directions.

Tip: If you only want traffic and speed-camera alerts, just start driving without planning a route. Once the app detects you're driving, the app will send alerts.

Electric vehicles

(Android only)

Make sure you've selected your car model in Menu > My car to enable EV routing.

1. Tap Search to enter an address or place. Or tap a spot on the map to set your destination.
2. Tap Route.
3. Tap the battery icon to set your car's charge level. The app uses this to decide if you'll need charging stops along the way.
4. Set your charge levels:
   • Tap Current location to set your starting charge.
   • Tap your destination to set what charge you expect on arrival.
5. Tap Drive. The app gives you turn-by-turn directions.
