Errors during updates can happen for various reasons. In most cases simply trying to download the update again and leaving the navigation device connected to the computer should resolves the problem.
If you are unable to complete the updates, check the following:
-
Latest MyDive Connect:
Make sure you are using the latest MyDrive Connect version. -
Connection to computer:
Your device should be connected to and recognised by MyDrive Connect. If the device is not connecting, try these troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. -
Stable internet network:
You should have a stable internet connection. We recommend connecting a network (Ethernet) cable directly to the computer for large updates. A wireless internet connection can be used, but this can affect the updating speed and result in slow or failed download. -
Security software access:
Any antivirus/ firewall should not block MyDrive Connect. Normally, firewalls, antivirus scanners and pop-up blockers can also interfere the download process. You can configure your firewall and router to allow MyDrive Connect to have full access to the Internet. -
Unrestricted network:
Avoid using a public network or business network should be avoided. We do not recommend using a public network for updating the device as this may have an unstable internet connection. Similarly, a business network such as an office internet may have download restrictions.
If you get an error during an update, check the error messages below:

This error appears when updates have failed. Try clearing the cache using the steps below:

- Select the Downloads tab and click Empty download folder.
- Deselect the option Downloads updates on my computer and save the settings.
- Perform a soft reset on the device and restart the update.
Device not responding:
The device stops responding when the connection suspends with MyDrive Connect. Follow these steps:
- Disconnect the device and perform a soft reset on the device.
- Reconnect the device and try again.
If the device is still not responding then connect the device to a different USB port or try a different USB cable.
If these steps fail, try installing the updates using a different computer.
