For a stable connection between Tom and your phone you need to make sure permissions aren't restricted and battery savers are switched off.
Select your phone model from the following list:
Android
Permissions in your phone's Settings > Apps > TomTom:
- Notifications > All TomTom notifications
- Permissions
- Location > Allowed all the time
We only use your location for live traffic updates when Tom is connected. - Nearby devices
- Notifications
- Location > Allowed all the time
- Manage app if unused > Disabled
- Wi-Fi data usage > Background data > Enabled
- App battery usage > Allow background usage > Unrestricted
Settings in Settings > Battery:
- Battery Saver > Off
Settings in Settings > Apps > TomTom
- Mobile data usage > Background data
On some phones the setting for disabling battery savings is overruled. Instead of unrestricted the phone changes back to optimised.
The following steps should resolve this:
- On your Android Phone, go to Settings > Apps > All Apps.
- Search for Device Health Services.
- Tap Storage and Cache.
- Tap Clear Storage > Clear all data.
