Following speed limits is crucial for staying safe on the road. And this is exactly why ROADPOL started the speed marathon. In this week (from April 7 till 13), speed enforcements will be intensified in several European countries. On April 9, a 24-hour Speed Marathon will take place, with even more speed checks across all participating countries.
What is ROADPOL, and why was this initiative started?
ROADPOL, or the European Roads Policing Network, is a network of police organizations across Europe focused on improving road safety and reducing traffic offenses. They state that these increased checks aim to address excessive speeding, a leading cause of fatal road accidents in Europe.
