You can connect your iPhone or Android™ phone to your navigation device either with or without the MyDrive app . To take advantage of all three features listed below, we recommend that you connect using the MyDrive app. If you choose to connect without the app, you won't have access to the smartphone messages feature. You also won't have access to TomTom Services unless your mobile service provider allows Personal Hotspot/Bluetooth® Tethering.

TomTom Services
Receive real-time traffic information, speed camera updates and MyDrive using your phone’s data connection. This feature uses approximately 7 MB of data per month.
Note : Smartphone Connected devices only. All other devices receive services via the built-in SIM. -
Hands-free calls
Receive and make calls on your navigation device. Get full access to your phone’s personal assistant - Siri or Google Now™. -
Smartphone messages
Receive SMS and messages from other smartphone apps on your navigation device. Messages can be read aloud so you can keep your eyes on the road.
Note : iPhones or Android™ (5.0 or higher) smartphones only.
Click Android™ app or iPhone app for specific steps to connect using the MyDrive app. Click Without app for connecting your phone without using the MyDrive app.
Connect with the Android™ app
To connect your navigation device to your phone, follow these steps:
- On your navigation device, open the main menu.
- Tap Settings , then tap Bluetooth® .
- Tap Add Phone .

On your phone, install the TomTom MyDrive app by downloading it from the Google Play Store or
tomtom.com/mydriveapp
.
Alternatively, you can connect your phone without the app. - Open the MyDrive app on your phone.
- Go through the intro and log in with your TomTom account, or create a new TomTom account.
- On the Connect your TomTom Device screen, tap OK, Show Me How .

Select your navigation device from the list.
If you are unsure which device you have, check the text on the screen of your navigation device. GO 520 Wi-Fi, GO 620 Wi-Fi, GO 5200 Wi-Fi, GO 6200
Wi-Fi is mentioned there. - Tap Scan Code . Tap Allow if the app asks to switch on Bluetooth®.

Point your phone’s camera at the QR code, which is shown on your navigation device. Once the QR code is in focus, it will be scanned.
Tips for scanning the QR code!
- Slowly move the phone forwards and backwards to help the phone camera focus on the QR code.
- Minimize light reflections on the navigation device screen.
- Minimize direct sunlight on the navigation device screen.
- Accept the pairing request on your phone, then on your navigation device.
- On the Enable Smartphone Messages screen, tap Notification Settings and then enable the MyDrive toggle.
- Tap your phone’s Back button to go back to the MyDrive app.
- Your devices are now connected. You can select which features you’d like to use in the Bluetooth® settings on your navigation device.
Note : If you skipped the Connect a TomTom device set-up, failed part of the set-up, or want to connect a different device, open the app menu and tap Connect Your Device.
Connect with the iPhone app
To connect your navigation device to your phone, do the following:
Note : As part of the set-up you will be asked to accept two pairing requests. One for Bluetooth® Classic and another for Bluetooth® Low Energy.
- On your navigation device, open the main menu.
- Tap Settings , then tap Bluetooth® .
- Tap Add Phone .
- A QR code is shown on the screen of your navigation device. Ignore the QR code as this is for Android™ phones only.

On your phone, install the TomTom MyDrive app by downloading it from the App Store or
tomtom.com/mydriveapp

Alternatively, you can connect your phone without the app - Open the MyDrive app on your phone.
- Go through the intro and log in with your TomTom account, or create a new TomTom account.
- On the Connect your TomTom Device screen, tap OK, Show Me How .
- Tap OK when the app asks if MyDrive can send you notifications.

Select your navigation device from the list.
If you are unsure which device you have, check the text on the screen of your navigation device. - Tap Next .
- Leave the app and open Bluetooth® in the Settings menu of your phone.
- Switch on Bluetooth®.
- Your navigation device will appear in a list of available devices. Tap it to pair.
- Accept the Bluetooth® pairing request on your phone, then on your navigation device.
- Once connected, your phone shows a notification from MyDrive. Tap the notification to return to the MyDrive app.
- To finish the set up, accept the Bluetooth® pairing request on your navigation device then on your phone.
- Your devices are now connected. You can select which features you’d like to use in the Bluetooth® settings on your navigation device.

Note : If you choose to connect your phone to your navigation device without the app, you won't have access to the smartphone messages feature. Smartphone messages are only available on iPhones, or Android™ (5.0 or higher) smartphones, that connect to the navigation device using the MyDrive app. You also won't have access to TomTom Services unless your mobile service provider allows Personal Hotspot/Bluetooth® Tethering.
Connect without using the app
To connect your navigation device to your phone for hand-free calls, do the following:
- On your navigation device, open the main menu.
- Tap Settings , then tap Bluetooth® .
- Tap Add Phone .
- Tap the question mark (?) in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Tap Don't want to use the app. Follow these instructions.
- On your phone, open Bluetooth® in the Settings menu.
- Switch on Bluetooth®.
- Your navigation device will appear in a list of available devices. Tap it to pair.
- Accept the pairing request on your phone, then on your navigation device.
- Your devices are now connected for Hands-free calls.
To use your phone's data connection for TomTom Services, open the Settings menu on your phone and switch on Personal Hotspot.
Note : Depending on your phone's Operating System, Personal Hotspot might be called one of the following names:
- Tethering or Bluetooth® Tethering
- Tether or Bluetooth® Tether
- Or check the latest documentation available on your phone manufacturer's website.

Bluetooth® troubleshooting tips
- If connecting an Android™ phone for all three features; data, hands-free calls and smartphone messages, do not pair your navigation device from within your phone's Bluetooth® settings. Use the MyDrive app instead.
- If you are unable to set up a Bluetooth® Low Energy connection with your device during the set-up on your iPhone, you can try again later by opening the app menu and tap Connect Your Device .
- If the phone and device do not connect, unpair/forget your navigation device in the Bluetooth® settings on your phone and delete your phone from the Bluetooth® setting on your navigation device. Then repeat the set-up steps.
- If you connect to your phone without the app, but then decide to connect with the app, you will need to unpair/forget your navigation device in the Bluetooth® settings on your phone and delete your phone from the Bluetooth® setting on your navigation device. Then repeat the set-up steps.
- For easy reconnection, make sure Bluetooth® is switched on and your phone is in range of your TomTom device.
- In case you want to see smartphone messages, make sure the MyDrive app is open and that you've finished the set-up.
