Tom by TomTom is only compatible with the new TomTom app.
However, both products can be used at the same time without affecting your experience. You can continue navigating with your sat nav and use all its premium features. When Tom is mounted on your dashboard, and the TomTom app is running on your smartphone in the background, Tom warns you about speed cameras, traffic and road hazards.
Regardless of what device you’re using for navigation, you can always use Tom by TomTom next to it. Just make sure you have TomTom app installed on your smartphone, but since this app is free of charge and there is no subscription required, there is no cost involved to use TomTom app. Also, TomTom app can simply run in the background to feed the alerts to Tom while you use your navigation device.
